Details

There is much excitement about the benefits that can be delivered to the community by the wide deployment of heat pumps across a broad array of uses, and for good reason. There is the potential to improves people’s lives while reducing emissions and moving towards electrification. In all the excitement, however, the challenges implicit in the deployment of these technologies are regularly overlooked. The range of issues that needs to be addressed includes: upskilling the current workforce, refrigerant management issues, safety issues, end-of-life issues, managing retrofits in existing building with space and weight limitations and others. This session will describe the challenges faced in various sectors around the world and the solutions being pursued. Heat pumps may well be a key to a decarbonized future, but only if we can look squarely at the hurdles in front of us and resolve them well. Seminar Cost - $50
