ESBS has completed electrification of a number of projects through the replacement of old chillers and boilers with conventional reverse cycle heat pumps in and around Canberra.
In this presentation Lasath and two other ESBS senior staff, Amnon and Loo, will share their experiences and lessons learnt from these projects.
At the end of the session, participants will be able to prioritise and understand the key issues that must be addressed when converting aging assets for space heating, domestic hot water and cooking from gas to electricity.

Lasath is the owner- director at Engineered Solutions for Building Sustainability. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer with more than 35 years' experience working in England, Scotland, New Zealand. He has a good working knowledge on HVAC, Electrical Power and Distribution, Refrigeration and Heat Pumps including manufacture. Three of Lasaths projects in Canberra have won national awards for sustainability. Recent projects with conversion of existing gas fired assets at sites having restricted power supplies has provided firsthand insights to some of the challenges and lessons learnt during electrification, which Lasath will share during this presentation
