SM20: Introduction to the AIRAH Best Practice Guide to Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Management

Tracks
ARBS Seminar Series
Thursday, May 30, 2024
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Room E3.6

Details

One of the most common places for a fire to occur in a building is in the kitchen. Most commercial kitchen fires start at the cooking surface and spread into the kitchen exhaust ventilation system, where grease deposits ignite, and escalate into a major building fire. The recently published AIRAH Best Practice Guide to Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Management steps through a best-practice approach to managing health, hygiene and fire risks associated with commercial kitchen ventilation systems. By the end of the seminar, participants will have been introduced to the content of the AIRAH Best Practice Guide as a reference document for future projects. They will have acquired a greater understanding into the selection, installation, commissioning, certification, operation and maintenance of commercial kitchen ventilation systems. The seminar will also aim to assist participants in navigating the pending revision of AS1668.2. The seminar Q&A session will contribute to the development of a second edition of the Best Practice Guide to Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Management. Seminar Cost - $10
