Mikaila Ganado is a Director of GWA Consultants Australia and has over 20 years’ mechanical engineering experience in the built environment and water services sector. She is passionate about developing innovative, efficient solutions for both new builds and pre-loved buildings. Mikaila has extensive experience in design, project management, commissioning, maintenance, and operations. Mikaila is a Non-Executive Director for the Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH). She is an advocate for improving diversity and inclusion and is the Associate Director of the Women of AIRAH.

Mark completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) and Bachelor of Science degrees at Monash University, then gained a wide range of experience in capacities as Project Manager, Team Leader and Operations Manager in the industry. Following completion of his Master of Business Administration at the AGSM, Mark joined A.G. Coombs Pty Ltd in 2006 as General Manager, overseeing delivery of major projects nationally. His leadership and business acumen led to his appointment to the role of Executive General Manager and Director of A.G. Coombs Group businesses. He has been involved in the sales and delivery of a number of large and diverse projects throughout Australia over this time.

With 15 years’ experience in the HVAC&R industry, Chris has worked across multiple disciplines including mechanical design, building automation and digital technologies which has positioned him to understand the inner workings of the built environment and the challenges faced. Chris is an advocate for HVAC&R industry, dedicating his time and expertise to initiatives aimed at promoting awareness and driving positive change. He is the Managing Director of CopperTree Analytics Australia, a Non-Executive director of AIRAH and a professional/business mentor. Chris embodies a dedicated commitment to making the HVAC&R industry a smarter, greener, and more sustainable place for the future.

Ian Van Eerden

Ian leads the sustainability section at Northrop having begun his professional career providing sustainability advice to householders wanting to reduce electricity costs as part of the Federal Energy Efficient Homes Program. After moving into renewable energy consultancy, he set up and managed a program of solar panel inspection across the country for the Clean Energy Regulators, followed by a role overseeing the Hills Shire Council’s Sustainability Improvement Program and construction of the council’s new offices. Ian joined Northrop in 2015 and has grown the team to be one of the industry’s largest providers of sustainability services. Ian is a recognised leader in the industry sitting on the NSW Committees for Consult Australia and the Chartered Institution for Building Services Engineers alongside advisory roles for the Australian Building Codes Board, Property Council and Green Building Council of Australia. Ian plays a key role in securing sustainable outcomes for both Northrop and our clients. Ian manages a diverse group involved in projects that range from aged care to major commercial offices, to logistic centres. Ian believes that project success depends on a combination of three key elements: economic viability, social acceptability, and environmental sustainability. His current focus is on finding novel solutions to complex sustainability problems to achieve the desired sustainability outcomes.
