Recent advances in computer hardware performace have been a massive boost for those involved in simulation and numerical modelling in HVAC and Construction. For the first time, a designer is no longer limited to modelling just one building in an urban setting. We can now capture the flow characteristics of multiple floors of a building, or >1km of urban environments - considering air flow, pollutant concentration, pedestrian confort, thermal management and acoustic design. Joel will cover the basics of a well-defined simulation project, plus offer demonstrations of some recent Australian case studies.
