Details

Over the last 5 years the Green Building Council of Australia has updated their suite of Green Star Rating tools to respond to the urgent need to reduce operational and embodied carbon emissions associated with the design and construction of buildings in Australia. It is now substantially harder for design and construction teams to achieve 5 and 6 Star Green Star ratings as they need to substantially improve their energy efficiency in order to meet the requirements for the buildings to be Net Zero Carbon in operation. Design teams are starting to run up against the limits of conventional design and construction practice in Australia. At the end of this session, participants will be able to understand how the internationally recognised Passivehouse Methodology can be effectively used to control both design and construction quality which is now necessary to cost-effectively deliver 5 and 6 Star Green Star rated buildings. Seminar Cost - $40

Using the Passive House methodology to deliver the design and construction quality required to achieve high Green Star Building Ratings

.

Pablo is an Associate in Aurecon, Melbourne with over 14 years of professional experience in sustainability and integrated design. He is committed to assisting architects to achieve high-performing sustainable design through advanced building physics simulation and computational design With Master's level qualifications in Architecture and Town Planning, Pablo is in a unique position to bridge architectural and engineering cultures. Through close collaboration with architects, Pablo can integrate sustainability concepts harmoniously into architectural design. His goal is to achieve low-energy, high-comfort buildings that, thanks to their configuration and design, are optimally adapted to their environment and perform their functional requirements. Throughout the design process, Pablo interacts with the design team to bring to life coherent and holistic sustainable solutions. From the concept stage to parametric design and highly detailed simulations to support delivery, he supervises sustainability inputs at all stages of the design process. Pablo has collaborated with world-class architects, including Jean Nouvel, Zaha Hadid, Elemental, Dominique Perrault, Jean-Paul Viguier, and Marc Mimram, bringing global experience working on emblematic architectural projects worldwide to Aurecon.
