Brett Ferguson has a background in the chemical industry spanning 26 years supplying the ANZ region with a range of products including refrigerants. In 2018 Brett joined A-Gas Australia and is currently the Managing Director for the A-Gas business with responsibility for Australia and New Zealand. Brett’s interests include the role that Lifecycle Refrigerant Management (LRM) can play to ensure a sustainable future for this critical industry.

Stefan Jensen graduated in 1978 in Denmark with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. His professional career commenced in 1978 with Danfoss, Denmark followed by two years at SABROE Refrigeration A/S, Denmark as a Project Engineer. In April 1996 Stefan Jensen co-founded Scantec Refrigeration Technologies Pty. Ltd. He currently holds the position of managing director. Stefan is a Life Member of AIRAH and an Engineers Australia Fellow. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland and registered on the National Engineering Register. He has authored over 40 technical papers for AIRAH, IIR, DKV and IIAR conferences.

Moderator - Strategic Considerations for Refrigerants

Greg Picker has over 20 years’ experience in climate change and energy policy, with a particular focus on HFCs. In 2013, Greg became Executive Director of Refrigerants Australia. In this role he works with industry and government to help ensure policies drive good outcomes and are designed to be practicable. Prior to accepting the role with Refrigerant Australia, Greg worked with AECOM, and before that he spent a decade with the Australian Government working on climate policy. He began this professional journey many years ago when he worked with the United Nations Framework on Climate Change.

Panellist - Strategic Considerations for Refrigerants

Ian is the managing director of C.A Group Services. He has extensive experience having been 51 years in the industry and has been involved in the design, installation, commissioning and service of industrial ammonia refrigeration systems, commercial systems, supermarkets as well as secondary refrigerant re-circulation systems. He is an AIRAH member and participates in the Refrigeration Special Technical Group. Ian installed and commissioned the first Industrial Trans-critical CO2 System in Australia designed by KAV Consulting. Ian is actively involved in the design and manufacture of hydrocarbon systems, trans-critical and subcritical CO2 systems using all natural refrigerants for both the supermarket industry and Industrial applications. Ian has a passion for the design of energy efficient systems using natural refrigerant solutions with a strong emphasis on simplicity and a keen desire for carbon reduction. He also is passionate about training and education within the industry and was involved in the design, manufacture and commissioning of a mobile training trailer for TC CO2, Flammable refrigerants and Ammonia systems for Goulburn Ovens and Bendigo Tafe Colleges. Ian developed a Mobile CO2 trans-critical training rack which has travelled across Australia and successfully given practical hands-on training to over 300 technicians across the country.
